US House Committee seeks BYD, RIDE Mobility documents in national security probe

Elijah Crane, have asked BYD North America and RIDE Mobility — the battery-electric bus manufacturer — to submit documents on their corporate structure, data security and operations by June 11. This request is said to be part of an investigation into national security risks from foreign-affiliated transportation manufacturers in the US. The documents cover government contracts, grants, financing, tax incentives and subcontracts; detailed ownership structures; cybersecurity risk assessments; and whether the companies have ever had to comply with PRC data sharing laws or received data access requests from PRC agencies.
