Clearview AI wins pivotal US court approval of biometric privacy litigation

Under the settlement, Clearview will allocate 23 percent of its IPO value – estimated at $51.75 million – to settle the case. Despite objections from 22 state attorneys general, the judge cited minimal consumer opposition and the complexity of further litigation in approving the settlement.Clearview AI may have assured its continued operation in the US, with a federal judge approving the settlement of class-action privacy litigation in which the controversial facial recognition startup will share nearly a quarter of its value with consumers....
