Spanish government adopts draft law implementing EU AI Act

( March 12, 2025, 14:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Spanish government adopted national legislation implementing the EU’s AI Act yesterday, tasking the relevant national authorities that will be responsible for overseeing different parts of the regulation. The draft national law, which will now be processed urgently in the national parliament for approval, also sets out the sanction regime for violations of the AI law’s provisions and regulatory sandbox to allow AI developers to experiment with innovations in a controlled environment.Full statement follows (in Spanish).
