In follow-up to AI push, South Korea sets up quantum technology committee

Acting President Choi Sang-mok presided over the inaugural meeting of the committee, which comprises 11 experts from the private sector and seven ministerial officials from the government. The Ministry of Science and ICT reported 10 core initiatives to advance the country’s capabilities during the meeting, including ways to secure core technologies and strengthen global cooperation. Choi said quantum technology is emerging as a game changer that will have a profound impact on the national economy, society and security.
