South Korea's PIPC sharpens enforcement with focus on digital evidence

Tasked with analyzing digital evidence including corporate databases, the laboratory will fine-tune the Personal Information Protection Commission's capacity to identify privacy violations and calculate fines, PIPC Chairman Ko Hak-soo told MLex in a recent interview.   When South Korea’s Personal Information Protection Commission, or PIPC,  was launched five years ago, it was one of the smallest government agencies in the country, operating on a minimal budget and with limited resources....
