Google, Mistral AI models tested for language, cultural risks: Korean official

By Choonsik Yoo ( January 21, 2025, 08:00 GMT | Insight) -- The AI safety institutes from the UK, Japan, Singapore and South Korea have been jointly assessing the AI models developed by Google and Mistral AI to evaluate their security against vulnerabilities related to linguistic and cultural differences, according to the head of the South Korean institute. These four are part of the 10-member International Network of AI Safety Institutes, which also includes Australia, Canada, the EU, France, Kenya and the US. Kim Myuhng-joo, director of South Korea's AI Safety Institute, told MLex, adding that findings from the joint assessment are expected to be released at the AI Action Summit in Paris, scheduled for early February.
