South Korea aims to double investment in AI computing center project

( November 27, 2024, 07:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea said it intends to double the total investment in establishing a national AI computing center to 4 trillion won ($2.86 billion), up from the previously announced 2 trillion won, in response to intensifying competition among artificial-intelligence companies and governments worldwide. The government did not disclose whether this would result in changes to the intended computing power. In a statement released after a meeting of ministers, the government also said it might purchase GPUs before the computing center is completed, if necessary, and later transfer them to the center....
