TikTok told its ‘For You’ feed breaches EU law over harmful ‘rabbit holes’
( November 6, 2026, 11:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: TikTok failed to adequately assess and mitigate the risks of its “For You” feed drawing users into harmful “rabbit holes” of content about mental health and body image, breaching the Digital Services Act, the European Commission said in preliminary findings on Friday. The regulator said TikTok should redesign the feed, including by disabling viewing time as a recommendation signal and giving greater weight to users’ explicit preferences. The company can now examine the investigation file and respond in writing before a final decision, which could bring a fine of up to 6 percent of the provider’s total worldwide annual turnover.Press release attached....
