Lufthansa–ITA Airways, HD Hyundai–Lotte deals among Japan's merger clearances
( October 30, 2026, 07:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Japan Fair Trade Commission on Friday published its quarterly list of merger clearances for July through September, including Deutsche Lufthansa’s acquisition of a 41 percent stake in Italian flag carrier Italia Trasporto Aereo and HD Hyundai Chemical’s absorption of Lotte Daesan Petrochem. The Lufthansa deal was notified on Aug. 12 and cleared on Sept. 8, while the HD Hyundai transaction was notified on July 1 and cleared on July 17. The agency also cleared a planned integration between Japanese home-improvement retailers Arclands and Joyful Honda through a joint holding company on Aug. 27, following notification on Aug. 19.The list is attached (in Japanese). ...
