( October 29, 2026, 04:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Thailand’s Digital Economy and Society Ministry has proposed a regulatory framework for data centers that sets minimum operating requirements and classifies facilities into seven tiers based on power consumption, from 0.5 megawatts or less to at least 200 MW. The draft policy, approved by the national data center policy committee on Monday, sets minimum requirements covering site selection, electricity and water connections, environmental reporting and economic and social contributions. It will be submitted to the cabinet for consideration next week. The proposal also calls for the ministry to develop a TH-DC dashboard consolidating government approval and licensing data for data center operations. The ministry would oversee a Data Center One Stop Service system to facilitate license applications, link government databases, monitor projects and screen investment proposals before they are submitted to a review committee.Statement follows (in Thai)....
