Thailand coordinates with Meta on advertiser verification ahead of November rollout
( October 26, 2026, 04:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society is coordinating with Meta ahead of the Nov. 1 implementation of online advertiser identity-verification requirements. Meta will work with the ministry and the Electronic Transactions Development Agency to help businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, complete verification and prepare for the new rules. The measures aim to prevent fraudulent online advertising while allowing legitimate advertisers to continue operating. Meta has confirmed its readiness to comply with the requirements, published in the Royal Gazette on May 5, which require social-media platforms to verify advertisers’ identities before publishing paid advertisements in Thailand and retain their information for at least 90 days after the advertising service ends.Statement follows (in Thai)....
