Munich court estimates price damage caused by trucks cartel
( October 21, 2026, 12:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Construction companies that purchased MAN and Daimler trucks between 1997 and 2009 have seen the Munich regional court issue two final rulings on their damage claims stemming from cartel activity. For Daimler, the court estimated price damage at 3.7 percent for heavy-duty trucks and 4.2 percent for medium-duty trucks, based on the net price of a vehicle. For MAN, it estimated damage of 5 percent for heavy-duty trucks and 1 percent for medium-duty trucks. The court rejected a claim involving one truck purchased in 1997, finding that damage was unlikely, and concluded that court-appointed experts' opinions provide a sound and appropriate basis for estimating damages.Statement follows (in German). ...
