Orange ordered to halt Mayotte fiber rollout by French antitrust watchdog
( October 21, 2026, 10:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Orange must suspend further fiber rollout in the French territory of Mayotte under interim measures, the national competition authority said on Wednesday. Following complaints, the watchdog said Orange’s deployment could constitute an abuse of dominance by jeopardizing a publicly backed network by rival Réunicable and its subsidiary Mayotte THD, possibly leaving the more-remote consumers without fiber access. Pending a final decision, Orange must provide Mayotte THD with information and infrastructure access needed for its rollout.Statement follows (in French)....
