US judge ends Yardi phased discovery in renters' price-fixing case
( October 14, 2026, 03:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US judge has ended phased discovery he previously granted defendant Yardi Systems in an antitrust case brought by renters accusing the company and landlords of illegally conspiring to fix rent prices. The court previously granted Yardi a stay on discovery directed to landlord co-defendants while the parties conducted an initial "Yardi-focused" discovery phase, but the continued limitation of discovery to that phase is "no longer needed," US District Judge Robert Lasnik said in an order filed in the Western District of Washington. "The purpose of phasing discovery was to determine whether threshold Yardi-focused discovery could obviate the need for broader discovery. It has not. The Court therefore concludes that the record should be developed through the remainder of discovery before plaintiffs’ remaining claims are resolved on summary judgment," Lasnik said.See attached file....
