Martin Shkreli violating lifetime pharma industry ban, US FTC, states says
( October 13, 2026, 14:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Former pharmaceutical industry executive Martin Shkreli has "flagrantly and repeatedly" violated a 2022 court order banning him from the industry, the US Federal Trade Commission and seven states told a New York federal judge. Shkreli should be found in contempt and face sanctions that include divestment of his currently owned pharmaceutical company stock, a fine equal to his profits from pharmaceutical company stock trading and "clear and escalating consequences for any future violations," the FTC said in a press release. "Mr. Shkreli has repeatedly ignored the injunction’s clear and unambiguous prohibitions and has shown little regard for the obligations imposed on him as a result of his prior illegal conduct," FTC Commissioner Mark Meador said in a separate statement.Statement follows below.
