Four AI model operators in China's Hunan summoned over security failings

( October 9, 2026, 09:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Four unidentified large-model operators in China’s Hunan province were recently summoned by the provincial cyberspace regulator over failures to fulfill their responsibilities for generative AI services, the local internet authority said in a statement Friday. The companies had weaknesses in algorithm design, training-data management and safeguards for generated content, alongside inadequate cybersecurity and data-security measures that exposed them to risks including harmful content, AI attacks and data poisoning, the regulator said. It ordered them to identify and remedy vulnerabilities, strengthen content detection, risk interception and anomaly monitoring, conduct regular security checks and complete required generative AI service and algorithm filings. All four pledged to conduct comprehensive internal reviews, promptly correct problems and strengthen long-term management and AI safety governance.Statement follows (in Chinese). ...
