The ministry said the rapid growth in generative AI use has expanded its role from a tool for studying, work and information searches to a conversational partner for everyday interactions, emotional connection and mental health and psychological counseling. This has increased the need to address emerging risks, including exposure of personal information, inaccurate mental-health information, self-diagnosis of mental illness and overdependence. The ministry said it developed the guidelines — one set for all users and another for children, adolescents and their guardians — to minimize the negative effects of generative AI use on mental health and support its safe use.The statement is attached (in Korean)....
