Indonesia passes law on standardized, connected government data

( October 7, 2026, 06:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia’s House of Representatives on Tuesday passed the One Data Indonesia law, setting standards for government data management, interoperability and security. The law establishes a legal framework for connecting government data systems, securing data and defining the roles of agencies responsible for managing it. Deputy Communications and Digital Affairs Minister Nezar Patria said the ministry will support interoperability and digital infrastructure needed to connect systems across ministries and agencies. The National Development Planning Ministry, or Bappenas, will lead coordination of the program, while individual ministries and agencies will remain responsible for managing data within their respective areas.
