NCAA moves to dismiss US antitrust case over eligibility rule

( October 6, 2026, 16:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The National Collegiate Athletic Association moved to dismiss a US antitrust challenge to its new implementation of its aged-based eligibility rule. It argued that the US District of Colorado lacks jurisdiction because plaintiffs fail to show that the NCAA purposefully directed activities into Colorado or that their claims arise out of or relate to those forum-directed activities. Additionally, it said its age-based eligibility rule is lawful even if the NCAA chose not to make it apply retroactively to students whose eligibility has expired. See attached file. ...
