India’s strict AI patent disclosure rules applied unevenly, counsel says

By Nick Robertson ( October 2, 2026, 18:40 GMT | Insight) -- Detailed AI patent disclosure guidance does not always translate into tougher examination, practitioners said this week, citing inconsistent application in India and a Brazilian review that found no disclosure-based rejections in relevant AI patent classifications. Patent applications for artificial intelligence inventions that were drafted to meet US or European disclosure standards may also withstand examination in India and Brazil, despite more detailed AI-specific guidance adopted or proposed in those countries, practitioners said Tuesday....
