US diesel export ban would help no one, undermine trust, EU spokesperson says

The comments suggest that for now at least the EU isn't yielding to US pressure to release additional fuel stocks to help bring down prices. EU diesel supplies remain stable despite high prices, while the bloc is ready for possible collective action through the International Energy Agency. EU ambassadors will meet at 3:30 p.m., Brussels time, Friday to discuss the global energy situation.The EU is standing firm against the prospect of an US diesel export amid growing trans-Atlantic tensions over Washington's calls for European countries to release additional fuel stocks to help bring down prices....
