Hapag-Lloyd, ZIM merger pitch rejected by Israeli government
( September 30, 2026, 15:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: ZIM Integrated Shipping Services was informed by the Israeli Government Companies Authority that the application for its proposed merger with Hapag-Lloyd will no longer be evaluated by the government due to a missed deadline for answering the government's information request on the deal, ZIM told its investors via a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Any new proposal must "be filed in full detail in order to enable the GCA and the State of Israel to make an informed decision," and Hapag-Lloyd has told ZIM that a replacement application will be filed "in connection with the special state share and the pending merger transaction," ZIM wrote in a Sept. 30 SEC filing.See securities filing below....
