Coles' proposed acquisition of supermarket site in South Australia triggers review

In a statement on Wednesday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said that Coles signed a letter of offer with the lessor, Merenda Group, for a proposed lease of a Coles supermarket within a new neighborhood center in Angle Vale in the state of South Australia. The lessor is an Australian private company and has engaged Catcorp as development manager, the regulator said. It added that Catcorp is an Adelaide-based development and construction company, with experience delivering “commercial and mixed-use projects.” The regulator is seeking views until Oct. 7.Statement follows....
