Song said an amended law allowing personal information to be used for AI development will take effect early next year, while procedures for using pseudonymized data have been substantially simplified. The Personal Information Protection Commission will overhaul its fine system to punish repeated or serious violations more strictly, and has introduced reductions of up to 40 percent for proactive investment in data protection.
