Korean Air faces KFTC review over alleged non-compliance with merger remedies

The Korea Fair Trade Commission said Wednesday that its investigators sent an examiner’s report to Korean Air alleging that the airline failed to maintain the required seat capacity on the domestic Cheongju-Jeju routes. Separately, Korean Air also asked the KFTC to ease merger remedies applied to the Incheon-Guam and Busan-Guam routes, citing declining demand for Guam amid changing travel trends. The investigators said they found the circumstances cited by the airline did not meet the conditions for modifying the merger remedies.
