China warns EU against reported European 'Section 301' trade tool

China’s Ministry of Commerce said in a statement on Tuesday that such a tool would be protectionist and unilateral, disrupt China-EU trade and global supply chains, and undermine the rules-based multilateral trading system. The ministry said tougher EU measures would also damage trust and interfere with ongoing trade and investment talks between the two sides, and urged the EU to manage differences through dialogue.
