The Korea Fair Trade Commission said Monday that the government and the ruling Democratic Party announced a package of measures aimed at strengthening deterrence and enforcement against cartels. The measures include extending the statute of limitations for cartel cases to 15 years from the current 12 years, establishing an legal basis for price-redetermination orders as a corrective measure under the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act and exempting leniency beneficiaries from corrective measures, including price-redetermination orders.
