US states' case against Trump, Treasury over DOGE access to payment system dismissed
( September 23, 2026, 17:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US President Donald Trump and the US Treasury Department were granted dismissal of claims filed by 19 state attorneys general over the Department of Government Efficiency's access to the Treasury's central payment system. District Judge Jeannette A. Vargas found the states failed to plausibly allege that any legal consequences have resulted from DOGE's "automated review process" itself. "The FAC alleges that the program at issue 'identif[ies] payments that may be improper under [the president's] executive orders' and flags them for further review. There is no allegation that the automated program makes the determination to cancel the relevant payments," Vargas said. See attached file....
