US magnesia carbon brick producers ask Commerce to change scope language
( September 22, 2026, 20:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A coalition of US producers filed an anti-circumvention request to the Commerce Department concerning magnesia carbon bricks from China to request a clarification on the language that the scope covers any amount of alumina added to subject imports. The request, which domestic producers said was urgent amid concerns China could add trivial amounts of alumina to imports, was filed after the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled in August that any amount of alumina in the subject imports meant a product was out of scope, but the judges also said Commerce could clarify the scope in a circumvention request.See attached....
