Seven AI-model operators in Hunan, China, summoned over security lapses

( September 18, 2026, 09:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Seven unidentified large-model operators in China’s Hunan province were summoned by the local cyberspace regulator over information-security problems with their generative-artificial-intelligence services, according to an announcement Thursday. Regulatory inspections found that the operators had violated China’s Cybersecurity Law and the Interim Measures for the Management of Generative AI Services, the regulator said. They were ordered to rectify the issues within a specified period, identify vulnerabilities in their information-security guardrails and implement corrective measures.
