Influencer code, ban on addictive social media backed by EU lawmakers

They voted 395 in favour, 136 against and 80 abstentions on Thursday for a report advocating legislation which including a ban on harmful addictive design, algorithmic transparency and an EU code of conduct for influencers, the parliament said in a statement. It will now be for the European Commission to consider the report while the bloc develops it’s Kids Act legislative initiative which focuses on safety-by-design and harmful features.Statement follows....
