Malaysia's communications regulator seeks closer alignment with Competition Act

The proposed changes include aligning the CMA's competition provisions with the Competition Act 2010. Stakeholders generally supported greater consistency but sought clarity on legal tests, enforcement powers, remedies and the respective roles of MCMC and the Malaysia Competition Commission to avoid overlapping jurisdiction and duplicative enforcement.
