Broad range of tech companies to face EU safety-by-design rules

She said the proposal would combine a graduated model for social-media access with safety-by-design and privacy-preserving age-assurance obligations, placing the burden on platforms to show their services are safe for minors.Social-media and video-sharing platforms, online video games, app stores, AI companions and chatbots offering services to minors would face new EU child-safety duties under the proposed Kids Act, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen confirmed Thursday (see here)....
