Indonesia LPG distributor Hibarnas faces tying allegations
( September 16, 2026, 05:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesian LPG distributor Hibarnas Jaya is facing a competition case over allegations that it required LPG retailers to buy non-subsidized Bright Gas cylinders to continue receiving subsidized LPG supplies, the country's antitrust regulator said Wednesday. The Indonesian Competition Commission, or KPPU, alleges the requirement was in place from 2020 to July 2025 in Tegal Regency, Central Java. Retailers that failed to buy Bright Gas could have their subsidized LPG allocations reduced, investigators said. The conduct is being examined under Indonesia's prohibition on tying arrangements.
