Korean Air-Asiana Airlines mileage-integration plan wins approval in South Korea
( September 15, 2026, 03:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Korean Air’s plan to integrate its mileage program with Asiana Airlines has won approval from South Korea’s competition regulator as part of the merger between the country’s two largest carriers. The Korea Fair Trade Commission said Tuesday that it approved the final plan after its 2022 conditional clearance of the merger required Korean Air to submit a mileage-integration plan. Under the approved plan, Asiana customers will be able to retain their existing Asiana miles for 10 years. Customers who choose to convert Asiana miles into Korean Air miles will receive a 1:1 conversion for flight miles, and 1 Korean Air mile for every 0.82 Asiana miles earned through partners such as affiliated credit cards.
