The action followed a public notice issued in August under China’s 2026 nationwide personal-information protection campaign. Three of the affected apps were operated by Shanghai Fudong Medical Management Company, which focuses on musculoskeletal rehabilitation and sports medicine, while two were operated by Shanghai Chida Internet Information Service Company, a dental-products and digital-processing company. The remaining app, an online direct-procurement platform for medical services, is operated by a unit majority-owned by Chinese medical-imaging equipment maker United Imaging Healthcare. The regulator warned that further measures — ranging from network access cuts and administrative fines to listing noncompliant companies as poor telecom operators — could be imposed as circumstances warrant.
