EU’s procurement overhaul sets framework for ‘European preference’

The act itself would not impose a blanket “buy European” rule, but would establish common rules for preferences required under sector-specific EU legislation.Companies operating in the EU will see stricter rules for public procurement that would allow public authorities to favor EU companies and products, as part of a wider overhaul of the bloc’s procurement rules....
