Pratt & Whitney’s contract changes welcomed by IATA

( September 9, 2026, 09:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Changes by Pratt & Whitney Canada to its contract terms — to address EU competition concerns — have been welcomed by the International Air Transport Association. The changes remove restrictions on independent maintenance shops’ access to certain used aircraft engine parts. The move “will bring more competition and choice to one part of the turboprop engine aftermarket,” IATA said, while stressing that the principles of fair competition should apply “across the entire engine aftermarket.”Statement follows....
