Linfox Armaguard designated under Australia's cash-distribution law
( September 9, 2026, 06:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Australia’s dominant cash-in-transit provider Linfox Armaguard has been designated by the country’s central bank under the new cash-distribution framework, the competition regulator said. In a statement on Tuesday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said the Reserve Bank of Australia designated Linfox on Sept. 3 after the 2026 Cash Distribution Framework Act commenced on Aug. 27. The regulator said Linfox is now subject to obligations enforced by the watchdog, including negotiating in good faith with its customers about a proposed service or access agreement, or a variation to an existing service or access agreement. The Australian competition watchdog authorized Armaguard's takeover of Prosegur Australia in 2023 leaving Armaguard with more than 90 percent of the cash-in-transit market.Statement follows.
