Philippines unveils $34.4bn AI infrastructure plan

( September 8, 2026, 08:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Philippines' Department of Information and Communications Technology on Tuesday launched the Philippines AI+ Infrastructure Masterplan 2026–2033, a national strategy aimed at positioning the country as a leading regional hub for AI infrastructure and digital services. The plan calls for $34.4 billion in public and private investment, including a flagship hyperscale AI data hub and an expansion of AI data-center capacity to 1.5 gigawatts by 2033, from about 50 MW currently. It also aims to attract $12 billion in private hyperscale investment, reskill 1.3 million IT and business-process management workers, create more than 500,000 AI-related jobs, and strengthen connectivity, energy, regulation and AI adoption.The documents are attached....
