Comscore wins dismissal of CinemaCloudWorks US box-office data claims

( August 26, 2026, 18:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A California federal judge dismissed, with leave to amend, CinemaCloudWorks's antitrust claims against Comscore over Comscore's alleged anticompetitive conduct and abuse of monopoly power in the market for theatrical box office data and related distribution software. In an order, US District Judge André Birotte Jr. of the US Central District of California said CinemaCloudWorks, which is owned and operated by Atlas Distribution Co., said the plaintiff has not plausibly alleged the relevant market in which it claims competition was restrained. The judge also found that the second amended complaint does not plausibly allege exclusionary conduct sufficient to support a Section 2 claim. See court document. ...
