Delays in Apple monopolization suit an 'acute concern,' US DOJ, states say
( September 3, 2026, 13:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Apple's request to extend the case schedule in monopolization litigation brought by the US Department of Justice and a multistate coalition should be denied, the plaintiffs told a New Jersey federal judge. "Because this action seeks injunctive relief only, continued delay is an acute concern for Plaintiffs and U.S. consumers as a whole, as Congress has directed that antitrust enforcement actions to stop ongoing harm be treated with special urgency by both the parties and courts," the plaintiffs said a joint status report filed in the District of New Jersey. Apple asked the court to continue coordinating discovery between the governments' case and separate multidistrict litigation, "and thus extend the fact discovery deadline in the Government Action by the same length as any extension in the MDL."See attached document....
