( September 3, 2026, 08:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China urged France to immediately halt implementation of its anti-ultra-fast-fashion law, Ministry of Commerce spokesperson Huang Ling said at a regular press briefing on Thursday. Huang said the law applies double standards under the guise of environmental and sustainability requirements and may violate the World Trade Organization’s nondiscrimination principle. She called on France to resolve differences with China over sustainable textile trade through dialogue and ensure a fair, nondiscriminatory market environment for Chinese companies.
