M.P. Evans unit fined in Indonesia for late acquisition notifications

( September 1, 2026, 10:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- Mlex Summary: The Indonesian Competition Commission, or KPPU, fined palm-oil plantation company PT Evans Indonesia 2 billion rupiah ($122,000) on Tuesday for notifying it late of acquisitions involving PT Agro Bumi Kaltim and PT Nusantara Agro Sentosa. The antitrust regulator found that Evans Indonesia breached Indonesia's mandatory merger-notification requirements by failing to report the transactions within 30 working days of their becoming legally effective. Evans Indonesia, a subsidiary of the UK's M.P. Evans Group, acquired 99.99 percent of each company in 2023 and was required to notify the KPPU by Jan. 8, 2024, but did so on Jan. 10, two working days late.Statement follows (in Indonesian)....
