SerpApi said that under the provision, Reddit users direct Reddit to distribute their content publicly and freely. "Reddit has been violating its users' directive since at least July 1, 2024, when it blocked all search engines other than Google from accessing reddit.com. That interferes with the business activities of search engines and scrapers. Worse yet, Reddit blocked access for anti-competitive reasons: to stifle the free flow of Reddit users' content to the public so that Reddit could extract huge sums of money from those able and willing to pay for access," it claimed.
