The new pilots will bring the total number of participating cities to 39 and cover sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, transportation and embodied AI. Fourteen centrally administered and state-owned companies will also make more than 6 billion data records available, while authorities plan measures to develop data-related skills and explore new commercial models for token-based services. China’s data industry reached 6.78 trillion yuan ($1 trillion) in 2025, up 15.7 percent from a year earlier, with 482,000 data companies operating nationwide, according to the China Data Industry Development Report 2026 released at the Expo.Statement follows (in Chinese)....
