Snapchat accused by Pennsylvania AG of encouraging compulsive use by children

( August 25, 2026, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced a lawsuit against Snap, Inc., accusing the company of failing to warn users of platform addictiveness and protect children from compulsive use. The complaint alleges that Snapchat lies about how often adult-themed material, such as sexual content and nudity, suicidal ideation, and drug use, appears on its platform to keep a young age rating in app stores. "Snapchat has designed its platform to lure children into constant, compulsive use that is detrimental to healthy adolescent development," Sunday said.Full statement follows.
