China’s Tianjin trains app operators on data-privacy compliance amid crackdown

The event was part of a nationwide personal-information protection enforcement campaign launched in April 2026 and was intended to promote compliance with relevant laws, policies and standards. Officials briefed companies on common and recurring violations identified during the campaigns, while industry experts offered guidance on technical testing and drafting compliant app-privacy policies to help operators rectify unlawful data-collection practices.
