( August 21, 2026, 07:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A proposal by Golden Energy and Resources and M Resources to acquire assets of the insolvent Tahmoor Colliery has been approved in Australia. In a determination published late on Friday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said the acquisition is unlikely to have an adverse impact on the only domestic consumer of coking coal, BlueScope Steel based in Port Kembla. Tahmoor is a coal mine in the Illawarra region in the state of New South Wales. The regulator said that the relevant assets include the mining rights, plant and equipment, real estate and a 16.67 percent equity interest in Port Kembla Coal Terminal. The regulator added that Golden Energy and Resources and M Resources are part of an existing consortium, GM3, which operates the Appin and Dendrobium coal mines in the Illawarra region.Determination is attached....
