Polish law in works to guard cancer survivors’ right to be forgotten in loans
( August 21, 2026, 12:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Poland’s ministry of Finance is taking legislative action to ensure that cancer survivors have the right to be forgotten, It said in a letter to the country’s data protection authority on Friday. That right is governed by the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation and the Polish constitution, but not yet part of financial law. According to the regulator, former patients currently have no way to exercise their right to be forgotten in the broadly defined area of financial services and continue to face discrimination when applying for loans and insurance contracts.Statement follows, documents attached (all in Polish)....
